Winter has truely come to Finland, greeting us with several inches of snow and ice all over our northern land. I have a lot to do before Christmas, and I'm really starting to get that special Christmas - feeling we only get once a year. Since I'm an atheist, I don't celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ. I celebrate it more like a pagan holiday, since it's a family tradition this time of the year, I don't want to leave it out completely. I skip churches and their choirs, and I don't think twice about the Christian miracles of the Christmas nights.
Today, we went to get our Christmas tree, and now we've got a quite big one. I'll be posting pictures of that later. I hope you have just as fun on your holiday as I've had so far!

You know that there's a freakish amount of snow when you actually have to go outside and shake down some of it, because the trees would otherwise fall onto your roof or your henhouse. Do you know how you know if you live on the countryside in Finland? You have to shake snow from the trees to protect your hens.

... feels like a waste of time. English class is something I don't really need. My English is already good enough, now let's get on with the more advanced stuff! We got our logs back today, and I got a VG, for Very Good. Nothing less than expected, but still I'm a bit proud. The things we do in English, and in biology, is the only work I actually show my parents, because they are the only subjects where I get A's. Anything less, and I feel more than stupid.
Also today we'll rehearse the sketches and the singing for the final day of school. I hope all goes well.

I just got back from a 20 minute walk. I know, I'm used to being outside for hours in a row, but if you consider my weekend so far, 20 minutes is apparently quite the accomplishment, according to Alexander. I consider it more of a first few baby steps in the right direction.

I'm feeling a bit better than yesterday. But I'm still going to be stuck in my bed until it's time for work. I hate it, my stomach feels like a battleground from GoT. If I didn't know better, I'd say that I was on my period. Or something. But that time of the month is far away from 13th December.
Today we celebrate the saint Lucia, but I'm not going to celebrate in any particular way. I'm just going to stay here at home and do some schoolwork, study for a math test and try to get my stomach to calm the fuck down.

... stand impeccably still. I just want to go home, but the bus keeps me stuck in the centre of the village. I have tons of stuff to do, training for tests for example. I can't do that in a bus, it's too quiet. I need something sounding like a warzone to be able to study. As much sounds as possible, and a sideorder of chaos, thank you!
We're finally moving forward and my head is pounding like a drum.
I spent an hour with Christoffer today, at the library. I really enjoyed it, as always. The library is my favourite place in this lousy little community of ours. That's the one place that I really can relax. And of course, with my friends. Especially Christoffers. He's like a portable safe place for me. Cheesy but true. I love being with him, because when I am, it feels like I've been holding my breath every second I've been away from him. It's also cheesy, but incredibly true. It's like there's only oxygen around him..
Anyways, time for me to go be sociable!

I've started watching Game of Thrones (finally, one might add), and I'm absolutely loving it. But I'm already falling in love with the series. Which hurts me lots, since I've read the books and knows what happens. I love the way Martin tells the story in the books, and I absolutely love the casting that has been made with the series. I especally love Jean Bean in his part as Lord Stark of Winterfell. If one of my many future characters get cast half as well (if I'm ever lucky enough to become an acknowledged writer), is cast half as good, then I'll be an increadibly lucky writer.
