I often get asked questions about my brother and father, who both have autism. They both have Asperger's Syndrome, a mental disorder known for problems with nonverbal communication and social intereaction. Before I go on talking about it, let's establish a few things;

1. Having Asperger's does not make you a retard or insane.

2. There are upsides with having Asperger's

3. My brother and father are normal humans, and if you don't know it, you would never notice that there's something different about their minds.

In this text, I'll answer the five most frequently asked questions about my male familymembers and the syndrome that makes them special.

Are they normal in a social situation? No, not quite. People with Aspergers tend to not regonize any social "rules", have problems with showing emotions, and showing empathy or sympathy.

If they have difficulties with showing emotions, do they love or have friends? Of course. They has as much affection as anyone, perhaps even more when it comes to some people. They just have a hard time showing it.

Is it true that they can become manic over a hobby? I wouldn't say manic, but yes. They can spend hours and hours doing just one thing. When my father got a Rubric's Cube for christmas, he forgot to eat because he loved solving the puzzle so much.

You keep saying that there are upsides.. What are they exactly? For my father and my brother, who doesn't have as strong of an Asperger as many does, the intelligence that comes with it is a clear upside. People with Asperger's tend to have a strong sense of logic, and are usually impeccable at math and other sciences. Also, for my brother, something quite unusual, hightened senses. For example, I remember my mother had difficulty washing him as a small child, because the shower felt like someone was punching him.

Is your father a retard? No. There's a huge difference between being retarded and having this ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)

Något som stör mig enormt i bloggvärlden är att jag inte kan förstå varför folk kommenterar som de gör. De bloggar med närmast meningslösa inlägg får tiotals kommentarer, medan många av de bloggarna som har vilktiga saker att säga och berätta om, är glada över att någon gång ibland få en kommentar på något av sina inlägg. Jag förstår inte det här... Borde inte folk reagera på inlägg med faktiskt innehåll istället för närmast meningslösa inlägg ("SHOPPADE MED MAMMA, HON BETALADE FÖRSTÅS. HÄR FÅR NI EN SELFIE OCH HOPPAS ER HELG ÄR LIKA BRA SOM MIN, BITCHAAAS"-inlägg). Jag läser flera bloggar om livet i allmänhet, men jag vill ha någon slags mening med att läsa det. Jag vill att inläggen ska väcka funderingar hos mig så att jag kan plocka fram dem och tänka på dem när jag har lust.
Det är säkert en gullig tröja du köpt, men ett inlägg med två-tre selfies bara på grund av den är väl lite mycket?
Är det bara jag som är av den här åsikten? Tycker du inte att inlägg med mening borde bli den kategorin av inlägg som folk kommenterar? Eller kanske det bara är jag som är konstig

The idea of the movie was amazing. They could have made a masterpiece from it, and decided to go with a family drama. I was disappointed. I would have changed the script completely, turned the whole movie around and made something the idea deserved.

Recently finished reading Doctor Sleep, another novel by Stephen King. So I thought, why not write a review for the blog while I'm at it?

Doctor Sleep is the sequel to 'the Shining', so warning for spoilers if you haven't read it/seen the movie yet! The book is about Dan Torrance's life after the Overlook Hotel, and after loosing both his father and his mother. Dan's an alcoholic, and his Shining has become numb over the years. He still has his traumatic memories though, and they never seem to leave him alone.

Dan meets Abra. Abra is a small child, a few months old. She's also miles away at the time of their first meeting. She tells Dan her name through the Shining, and a few years later the acquintance with Doctor Sleep will be needed. It will even build a border between life and death.

As always, King never seems to disappoint me. I fell in love with his litterature once, and it feels like I'm never going to fall out of love with it. The use of the English language has a nice flow to it, and the story continues even beyond the pages of the book, trigging the readers own imagination. I loved the way the characters connected to the readers mind.

Har geografi och jag har otroligt tråkigt. Jag gillar geografi, men det är ju int precis min favorit av kurserna som går just nu. Jag har egentligen inget intresse av att skriva geografi, utan går kursen för att jag ska få en till kurs till godo. Jag bryr mig inte om resultatet, jag är liksom bara här.
Jag ska vara hos Christoffer idag och är jättetaggad! Jag har sovit en stund nu och jag är jättepigg! Jag hoppas att han är det också, annars får jag väl pigga upp honom med kaffe eller något. Jag ska hjälpa honom med en uppsats han håller på och skriver i modersmål. Tydligen så har det stannat helt, och min närvaro ska tydligen hjälpa till med att lossa på det.
Mamma ville dock ha hem mig, men jag har en konstig känsla av att jag inte alls behövs hemma. Hon sa samma sak igår, och det fanns inte något som jag behövde göra hemma. Det suger att hon vill ha mig hemma hela tiden. Det är som att hon inte vill att jag ska vara med mina vänner och min pojkvän. Jag förstår inte.
